Not just a light snow, but the kind that is heavy and wet. Perfect for making snowmen and snowballs. I like snow, I just think it's too early to start getting it. Crazy I know since it is November and we live in Wisconsin. On top of that, it was also thundering and lightening. Like, the weather can't make up it's mind. I think it would be great to live where it's fall all year round. How else to enjoy it but to go to Noah's Ark in Wisconsin Dells. My niece Kari, came to visit from Michigan and wanted to go. We all piled into the van pretty early and set out on our 2 1/2 hour or so drive. In the picture you see to the right, to me is probably the scariest ride there. It's called Point of No Return. It is 10 stories high and takes about 5 sec. to come down. A huge drop! Not for me! I took one look and was petrified. The lazy river is more my speed. Sitting in a innertube, just floating along catching some rays is more my style. Nice and slow.......kinda how the day went.

Izzy

March 24th, my niece Isabella had her 2nd birthday. Shannon and Mark took her to the zoo and to Chuck e Cheese's. I was a bit sad that I could not go with them(work...sigh). However, her birthday party was on saturday. The theme for her party was Dora. So, naturally, she received LOTS of Dora things. I think she recognizes her more than her auntie, lol! One thing I am excited for! Kinda started off slow and I was begining to wonder when it was going to pick up but I soon got my wish. After things started to happen, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. The most intense part for me was when the "eye" came down into the basement and was looking for them. That REALLY got my heart a pumping:) When it first came out, I had quite a few people say that either it was bad, just ok or that the original was better. All in all, I really enjoyed it! Get a good look at this box! I am sure we all know what these are. To me, they are pure evil! Too much of a temptation. I am saying that because today, my friend Heather and I polished off the whole box! Ok, ok, I ate more than her...but still! I counted how many of them are in an individual roll. Are you a bit curious to know how many? Well, I will tell you anyways...18! So, since there are TWO packages in there, that means 36! I know, I know...impressive I can count that high! We won't go into how many fat grams, calories, etc are in a serving and how many servings there are in the box...but lets just say I AM SICK OF IT!!

The rest is history

Ahhh yes...just another one of Calvin's escapades! I am talking about the little boy from the comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes. I remember the first time I read one of the strips. I was a senior, getting ready to leave Mr. Reller's British Literature class and as I neared the door, something caught my eye on the wall. As I read it, I suddenly burst into laughter. From that moment on, I was totally hooked! I started reading them everyday in the newspaper. Something about that kid and his tiger, Hobbes that really captured me. Here is a seven year old kid that every parent would probably consider a nightmare...lol, but deep down, you want to love him. Or atleast I do! His adventures are endless. Whether he builds his horrifying snowman scenes(the one pictured is nothing compared to those), rolling the family car into a ditch, eating maggots for supper(ok..so they are really not maggots, but rice...but hey...atleast he is finally eating what his mom cooked), becoming his alter ego..Spaceman Spiff or just sitting around pondering life with Hobbes....the days are just packed! So, if you think you would be even the slightest bit interested in joining these two for an unforgetable time, let me know and I can hook you up!

Who's tagged next?

Here we go again! What a great feeling!

4) Sitting down to a hot cup of tea and reading a good book(which has been too long since I have done that).

5) I KNOW we aren't supposed to mention family, but my mom. Even tho she is no longer with us, just the thought of her and the love she gave us comforts me in a way that nothing has ever come close too:)

A Day At The Movies

This afternoon, I picked up my best friend Amy, and we decided to go see the movie, The Pink Panther. Now, I don't really remember the original ones with Peter Sellers mind you, but I do remember the cartoons...lol!! So, I asked myself, "self, why are you leaving the comfort of your semi warm apartment to go see this movie?" The only honest answer was, so I can spend some time with my friend whom I don't get to see that often! So, I pick her up, God bless her...she interrupted her sleep(she works 3rd shift) to go see this with me! We settled down, her with her popcorn, and me, the nachos. Something about the salty, crunchy chips and gooey cheese that appeals to my tummy! Yum! Not to mention, nachos don't stick in your teeth like popcorn does! As we sit there munching, watching the previews to the movies coming up, I turn to her and tell her, "Oh, we should go see that one too!". So, the movie finally starts. I am excited not ONLY because of the good company but because I love Kevin Kline and Steve Martin. I had not really heard if the movie received good ratings, but I was actually entertained! I love comedy and it doesn't really take much for me to laugh, especially stupid comedy. One of the funniest parts when was Inspector Jacques Clouseau(Steve Martin) is trying to learn how to say, "I would like to buy a hamburger". I sat there at this moment with mixed feelings. Alternating between laughing and getting frustrated that he can't seem to pronounce hamburger. Poor Inspector! He never gets it right! The movie finishes and we had laughed many times. Do I recommend it? Sure, if you like stupid comedy! Afterwards, we were trying to decide where to eat(sound all too familiar JD???). Our decision was unanimous, Perkins. We just don't have the great selection that they do in West Bend, lol! The food was good, not great, but just good. Amy made the whole meal better! So, after wonderful conversation, we said our goodbyes, and I drove home. I brought down the cake I made earlier, and shared it with Shannon, Mark and Izzy. Oh yes, it was fun watching Izzy get chocolate cake all over her. I am just glad I didn't have to clean her up....lol! As I was about to leave, Shannon puts in the movie "In Her Shoes" with Toni Collette and Cameron Diaz. The movie is about two sisters who travel down a bumpy road to find appreciation for one another. I think this is one of Cameron's better movies. It was interesting to see her play the role of a woman who was both illiterate and a alcoholic, and how she overcomes her problems. Heartbreaking and touching at times. Would bring a tear to one's eyes! Anyways, I was glad to have seen both movies. It only makes me wonder what will be playing tomorrow??

Top 5

Ok so whoever reads this is tagged. After reading you must do this exact same thing and tag someone else. (and no Sunday School answers!!! ex...God , Jesus, family...blah blah blah)

Top five things I love:

1. First and foremost, Life. I know, not an original answer but one nonetheless. Just knowing each and every day I wake up(not the part of going to work that thrills me) but that I can see the people that mean the most to me just swells my heart to no end!!

2. On a crisp fall day, noticing the smell of someone using their fireplace.

3. Starbucks. I think this one seems to be on everyones top 5! What is up with that? Maybe I could try to make it myself I am sure...but I don't think I could remotely come close to mastering the sweet goodness that seems to find its way to my way lips, tummy, thighs, etc. every weekend I come down to visit J and J. And oh yeah by the way...thank you Jamie for getting me hooked! I totally blame you.

4. Sleeping in on the weekends(except for when my cat decides to paw at my head and wake me up so I can give him his pill...who needs an alarm clock). It is hard for me to get up during the week and do my daily work duties at the great retail place that we all know and love! I guess maybe the reason why it is soooo hard for me is that I stay up till 12-12:30am and chat/play games online with ours truly, "jd".

5. Chocolate....yum!!! Maybe this should of been my number one...but atleast it made it to my top 5. I think I need the t-shirt that says, "Body by Chocolate"(I would wear it proudly)! We all know it certainly isn't a body by the Biggest Loser DVD!!!

Top 5 things I hate:

1. That fact that my body IS by chocolate!

2. MITs....Men In Trucks drivers....I know not ALL men are like this...but I have experienced way TOO many of them in my lifetime. They are the ones that think they own the road or like to be right on your rear no matter how fast or slow you are driving.

3. Weather that is too cold or too hot!! I want to live in the perfect world that Walgreens commericals talk about. I want 65 -75 degree weather all year round!! Wouldn't that be wonderful??

4. My fear of rollercoasters. I have only been on one, The Beast(maybe that is why I am scared of them, the name alone). I hate the fact that I can't conquer my fear of them. The thought of it taking my breath away, which I know is the whole point of it, just makes my heart race as I think of it. Maybe I should just build a bridge and get over it............no thanks!!

5. London. Knowing I have had a life long dream to go there and have not done anything to make it happen. Sick of it!!

To win or not to win....

Here it goes, my very first blog....

I being the follower that I am decided to do so after my friend had. So much for originality.
Tonight, I challenged him to a game or should I say SEVERAL games of Need For Speed, Most Wanted. That might have been a huge mistake since he has been playing for the last few nights for like HOURS at a time(geek...lol). I know I can take him(or I have atleast done so in the past), so who knows?? This weekend, I might have to eat my own words......and I don't think they will be too tasty!!
